     IMMERSION IN THE SUFI UNIVERSE....

                        MUSIC ...  DANCE... CHANTS ....

                        THE LANGAGE OF THE SOUL ....

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is in Gökçedere, a small village in the north of Turkey.
Overthere is a “dergah” that could make you fly one day on the wings of the Sufi Music ...
“Dergah” means “door- threshold over the infinite”... and this is really what you may experience in this place where all together music, chants, dances will unite in one sole vibration: the Divine Vibration.

But most of all in this Dergah you will not be a spectator no! You will have this unique chance and privilege to BE the actor.. to DANCE to chant to play music if you wish...

This Dergah has been founded by Mutlu Baba, Sufi spiritual father, who wished to offer again to the seekers of Truth, the opportunity of immersing in the spiritual practices as tought by MEVLANA- RUMI Spiritual Sufi master and poet, founder of the Whirling Dervishes order.

So like this, this year the dergah hosts a “7 day – 7 night SEMA” ( and there has been up to 66 days- 66 nights SEMA !!! ... and there will be other each year... ) where YOU can experience and take the taste of the sublime Sufi dance of the whirling Dervishes...where you can have the privilege to get a glimpse- and maybe more- of this Divine Extasy found by turning, whirling, again and again and again, feeling your body flying on the wings of the music, yet at the same time totally rooted in its feet following the strong terrestrial rythms...

Not so easy at the beginning though.. and needing little time to accomodate and find balance, specially whilst slowing down to come back to immobility... important to be very slow ..
But once you have found your rythm, balance, techniques.... it is just far beyond anything one can experience.. .. 
Because this SeMa is not only a dance.
It is a UNION with your own soul, union with the Divine Soul, union with the unmanifested world, invisible world, which on this very precious occasion may become .. touchable, palpable...

And what to say about the musicians !?? .. how many were they ? maybe 20 ? or 30 ? ... turning, changing according to timing.. and playing night and day, day and night, not letting a single second without music. Music had to flow in a totally continuous way, according to the original practice,  and anyone who wishes may turn turn turn and whirl and whirl and whirl again and again night and day and day and night...

Excellent musicians from all countries of the world gathering for this special occasion and playing very authentic ancient instruments  with fabulous and totally unusual sound which take you in another dimension ... and the “ney” (sufi flute) about which it is said that it is the “soul’s voice” ...
All these instruments uniting under perfect guidance of the musicians create a unique atmosphere where you just wish to abandon yourself, body mind and spirit ... yet when the rythm become so loud so strong so pulsatingthen your body wants to wake up and dance faster and faster and turn more and more and more and more and your mind just dissolve in nowhere and only your body and soul remain, united in the music , vibrating in tune with the pulsating vibration ...

Very intense experience that cannot really be described by words ! But as strange as it might appear, although you are turning faster and faster, there is a point where you feel you are immobile, and what turns is the world outside. Fantastic discovery which ultimately brings LIGHT and kind of evidence or living proof.. that the world is just Maya, illusion, turning around you ... and the only TRUTH is ATMA, the Soul, immobile, here.

At home.

The kids were also at home there and they knew it very well.
Be it the little 2 year old cute girls who knew the sufi dance maybe before being able to walk !! 
Be it the 10 or 12 year old boys and girls who just as a group would enter the Sema following the pure tradition, offering their kiss to the Earth and then saluting the musicians and Spirit, and then slowly slowly entering the whirling dance... 
And if one of them would not really be comfortable with the dance, one more experimented would teach him-her gently and simply...
Like this...
Everything becomes so simple when only the SOUL talks...

 

Food would flow in abundance for all at any time of the day and night, 
Everyone would be provided with a place to lie down, to rest or sleep, which was the best way to imbibe the vibrations and let the body and mind be just abandonned to the soul !...
And of course place to wash, body and clothes, place to walk outside in nature, to feel the breeze of the wind, the coolness of the air, to admire the sun set or the sun rise or both ...(not at the same time though .. except maybe in the dreams :o)
With also always the opportunity to help the organising team in the kitchen or else where... like karma yoga.. good to “cool down” the energy !

Yes a very fantastic experience which is far beyond of any word that can be written...

PURE BHAKTI ... UNIVERSAL LOVE ... SOUL’s SOLE LANGAGE

And if you feel some disturbance by hearing many “Muslim” songs or words, if you feel disturbed by an apparent connection with specific religion, keep in your mind that SPIRIT HAS NO RELIGION...

Religions have been created by human.
SPIRIT EXISTS SINCE HUMANITY EXISTS (even before!)
And there is no border, no limitation of any kind in SPIRIT
SPIRIT is UNIVERSAL

Yet to be “transmitted” in this manifested world we need words , we need touchable concepts, that our limited minds can comprehend.
Thats is why Sufism is “mentally based” on Muslim tradition, as well as Yoga is “mentally based” on Hindu tradition.

But the words, the langage, be it sanscrit, farsi, arab ... should only be considered as SOUND, a VIBRATION like MANTRAS which will resonnate in our body mind spirit and ALIGN our being to the DIVINE VIBRATION so that we can have this experience .. the DIVINE EXPERIENCE.

Now back to earth, back to the worldly world, back to the (false) reality of Maya where the limitations of body and mind can be again felt ... but ok.. it is ok ... PRAKRITI .. MANIFESTED DIVINE ENERGY is also wonderful and whatever we might do, this experience will never vanish...
